Coffee is the elixir of life, in my personal rule book. In fact, I am pretty sure around 69% of my blood is comprised of that sexy java. Cup of Joe. Liquid Gold. Nature’s Nectar. Jet Fuel's Cooler Cousin. A Brew of Paradise. Whatever you refer to it is, it goes without saying that the vast majority of the world cannot function without their morning espresso, cappuccino, latte or whatever other form you take this beloved bean.
But one way in which coffee is translated from the culinary world… is into the fashion world. Coffee colours. Neutrals. Browns. Taupes. Hues of white. Cream and so forth. Caramel tints, golden flecks; cocoa speckles and cinnamon checks - this is my go to colour palette pretty much always. Unless I am feeling like racing down Rainbow Road and wearing every spectrum under the sun - coffee colours, much like black, can never go wrong.
Here are my favourite staple items at the moment which accentuate and take heed of our humble bean in clothing form…

But how does one wear coffee colours? Because really, when you think about it, skin tones are coffee colours. Whether you are pale as porcelain, or have an undertone of gold… are tinted with walnut tones or pecan palettes, or are full on deep chocolate (I see you melanin babe) - we’re all a cup of coffee in one way or another.
Here are my top tips for dressing to your skin tone with coffee colours and neutrals:
